“As a forty-something mom of two, I was very nervous about doing a photo session wearing so very little, especially with someone I’d never met in person. This is something I thought about doing for literally years and, with my wedding anniversary coming up, I thought it would be a very unexpected gift for my husband. I gathered up my courage and made an appointment. “What do you give your parent’s for their 60th Anniversary when they have everything they want or need?  They weren’t interested in a party, and with some of the kids living out of state it made a family get together almost impossible.  That was when I came up with an idea and polled my 2 brothers and 2 sisters to see what they thought.  We were all in. We wanted to hire a professional photographer to photograph our parents on their farm in Rustburg, VA. and give them the photos for their anniversary.  After a search on the web for a photographers in the area, I ran across Megan Vaughan Photography.  When I viewed her work on her website I was blown away and was hoping I could afford her.  But because my parents are in their 80s I didn’t want just anyone doing this shoot.  Once we talked on the phone I knew I wanted Megan. Sweet, kind, gentle, polite and very professional!  Now we had to convince our folks. I thought it might be a hard sell, but they both seemed to really like the idea.  To make my parents feel more comfortable Megan did a site survey a few weeks before the shoot.  She visited with my parents at the farm just chatting and asking questions to get to know them better before the big day. She was able to explain all the process and help them better prepare and think through what they wanted.  I called my parents and they seemed tickled with Megan.  I just received the photos yesterday of the shoot. I am thrilled.  Megan was able to capture the essence of the physical and spiritual tie my folks have to each other and to the farm.  This is the place they have spent 48 of the 60 years they have been married.  The place where they raised their 5 kids, tons of cows, pigs, chickens, and even a little cain now and then. It’s the place we all still call home.  But most importantly it’s the place where our mom and dad have spent their lives serving their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the one who made it all possible to begin with…  Check out Megan’s blog about the shoot.  It made me almost want to cry!!  Megan you are truly a pro!!!  It has been a blessing working with you and I pretty much feel about these images the way some people feel about Master Card… they’re priceless!!”

“Megan just shot my wedding on a Saturday and on Monday night she already had them uploading!  I really didn’t expect to see them so quickly, and let me tell you how unbelievable and perfect they ALL were.  One of my favorite things that Megan does so well is what I call “details”.  It’s all the beuatiful close up shots of the little things like the rings with candles, flowers, iron chairs lined up outside the chapel, even on when she caught my hand making a fist with my ring showing on it and she captured it. “I have had two sessions with Megan so far and I couldn’t be happier!! The reason I choose Megan (133 Photography) over others time and time again, is because of the multiple things she offers that others just can’t compare to. For one, don’t let her competitive pricing fool you. I believe she sets her pricing in a way that allows her clients to come back often, and for certain things you want to have captured beautifully, but that may not be a big thing such as a wedding, but something small while still being just as important to your family. I know I would just opt to not have those things done, due to the super high cost for even the most minute session.

I find when I go to site of other photographers, they only show a small handful of their work in photos, which leaves me wondering, “Could this be all of their best over the many years they have been doing this?” It’s a risk to me when that’s all I can see and many would make me purchase a certain package of photos from them, on top of it, which can get to be sky high for a photo package and the session package, even if all you want captured is not a big event. “What if I want something very casual in which I want great photos taken at my house with my husband and our animals?” I don’t have children yet, so that’s something that’s still important to me. Or what if I do have small children and I’d love some candids of them playing in a park or doing their favorite thing every year while they’re young. It would be nice, but it’s not a big enough thing to hire a super expensive photographer that I can quickly find out there, with “all the trimmings” as the only option. I may even find another competitively priced photographer, but I know I would be hard pressed to find one as artistic and with as much skill as Megan. Things like that are something I care a lot about, but most of us don’t normally even think of the option to get to do it because of the options the majority of photog’s out there offer. The usual option for most is to just go without, but then you lose those moments forever and it’s so unfortunate.

That’s why I love going back to Megan, because she allows the option to keep coming back, time and time again, for the big events, and for even the smallest things that may still mean a lot to me, due to her competitive pricing. Not to mention, I can see ALL of her work and it is ALL amazing and breathtaking, so I’m not left wondering….well is this it? Taking a gamble on something that can be very important and lasting in my lifetime is not a decision I want to make.

On top of all of that, she’s very down to earth, really helps with ideas, and always shocks me with her quality of work, no matter what! So I will keep going back to Megan, for the big and the little moments and know I’m making a lasting friendship with a great artist who will be able to capture so many things in my life that I can cherish forever.”

When we were setting everything up I had NO clue where I wanted to take the pictures or anything and she helped me pick something out by showing me different pictures she had taken, she was also very flexible in setting up an appointment and very timely in replying back to my email. “When I first booked a senior photo shoot with Megan Dacy I was extremely excited because I had already seen her some of her work and it was really good. I got up early the day of the shoot and was ready to go. When I got to the location and I saw Megan, I could tell she was extremely excited too because she was all smiles. We started the shoot off with some really cool pictures down in a tunnel with just enough water to cover my feet.
